The Lord Clyde, who has died aged 77, became one of the two Scottish
law lords in 1996, having earlier led the inquiry into Scotland's most

He was,IIRC,one of the handful of "hereditary life peers" in the legal
profession,having taken a bench title previously held by his father
(see also the Lords Russell of Killowen).
