The Lady Elystan-Morgan, who died at Aberystwyth, 19 December, 2006,
was the wife of the Labour Life Peer, Lord Elystan-Morgan.
She was the former Alwen Roberts, daughter of William E. Roberts, and
married the then Dafydd Morgan, in 1959.
Her husband was Labour MP for Cardiganshire, 1966-Feb. 1974; Chairman,
Welsh Parliamentary Labour Party, 1967-68, 1971-74; Parliamentary Under
Secretary of State, Home Office, 1968-70; front bench spokesman on Home
Affairs 1970-72, on Welsh Affairs 1972-74; on Legal and Home Affairs,
House of Lords, 1981-85; having been created a life peer in 1981 (when
he assumed his middle christian name of Elystan as part of his surname)
becoming Baron Elystan-Morgan, of Abertefi, in the County of Dyfed.
Lord Elystan-Morgan was later, 1983-87, a Recorder.
The funeral service is at Garn Chapel, Bow Street, 23 December, 2006.
