Lord Swinfen, the 3rd Baron, died 5 June, 2022. He was 83. The peer was one of the 42 hereditary peers elected to the House of Lords following the Blair reforms of 1999.

Roger Mynors Swinfen Eady was born 14 December, 1938, son of the 2nd Baron [1904-1977], and his 1st wife the former Mary Aline Farmar [died 30 Dec, 2002]; and succeeded to the peerage on the death of his father, 19 March, 1977.

The peerage was created in 1919 for his grandfather Charles Eady, a Lord Justice of Appeal 1913-18, and Master of the Rolls, 1918-1919, who died a couple of weeks after his peerage had been conferred.

The 3rd Baron married 24 October, 1962, Patricia Anne Blackmore, daughter of Frank Blackmore, of Dundrum, co Dublin, by whom he had issue a son, Charles, and three daughters, Georgina, Katherine and Arabella. The son, the Hon Charles Roger Peregrine Swinfen Eady, who was born 8 March, 1971.
