Another in my decades-long series of "Eminent Elizabethans II",persons
achieving notability in the realms of,during lifespans entirely within the
reign of,Queen Elizabeth II.My most recent entry was the 27th Baron Mowbray
in February, though I flirted with including the Marquess of Bute in March.

Dame Cheryl Gillan, who was born on the Queen's 26th birthday (April 21st
1952,her first birthday as Queen),died "over the weekend" according to
announcements from the Prime Minister and others, thus April 3rd or 4th 2021.
She had been the Member of Parliament for a Buckinghamshire constituency
since 1992,but was born and brought up in South Wales, and was Secretary of
State for Wales in the first years of the Cameron coalition government
(2010-12).She was created a Dame in 2018.

I started noting these deaths when one could only be in one's forties
or younger at death to qualify...but now almost the entire range of the
sixties is covered.

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.

Later confirmed as on the 4th.
Two days later Peter Ainsworth died...also born in the present reign
(November 16th 1956) and first elected to Parliament in 1992,he did
not remain in office when the Conservatives returned to power in 2010,
so he only held Shadow Cabinet rather than Cabinet posts and was
Deputy Chief Opposition Whip for a time.
