I learned via Leigh Rayment's Peerage Page of the death of
John Hubert de la Poer Beresford,
the 8th Marquess of Waterford,born July 14th 1933,on February 11th 2015.

He had held his title since the reign of George V,his father having died
in an accident in September 1934 (his rifle discharged when he slipped
trying to shoot a hare in his lawn).

His son and successor (born March 23rd 1958)
becomes one of the growing number of peers born
during the present reign.

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.

I might add that the newly deceased peer was the highest in precedence
among the remaining peers who had held their titles since before the
Queen's accession,a distinction that now passes to the 21st Earl of
Suffolk (whose father died trying to defuse a bomb in 1941).
